Profile

I am a Mexican-American married to an Italian which has settled to live in Florence, Italy. I am originally from Watsonville, California but my family lives all over the state.

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the SYESP (now called Quest, where you can see a picture of me way back when...) program my junior year in high school that took me to Stanford and opened many new doors for me. I studied International Relations at Stanford, then went on to receive my masters at Syracuse University.

I love to bake, more so than cook but I'm learning slowly (I try all types of recipes, from my mom's traditional Mexican recipes to my mother-in-law's traditional Tuscan/Italian ones. I have created a website where I have started to collect Tuscan recipes called Zuppa Toscana to share what I learn), and love to travel and read in my spare time.
