The UEFA Champions League is the most prestigious club competition in Europe. Beginning with 32 teams, the first two rounds are group play, then head-to-head elimination from the quarterfinals on.Prior to 1991 the tournament was straight elimination and was known as the Champions Cup.

The UEFA Regions' Cup is open to regional amateur representative teams from throughout Europe. Veneto Amateur (ITA) were the hosts and winners of the inaugural competition in 1999, defeating Madrid Amateur (ESP) 3-2.
