CISV is an independent, non-political volunteer organization promoting peace education and cross-cultural friendship.CISV provides a range of unique educational group activities which develop cross cultural understanding in children and youth from around the world. The Parent Teacher Association was founded in 1897 and is the nation's largest child advocacy organization. It is made up of 53 state PTAs comprising nearly 6.5 million members in more than 27,500 local PTA units throughout the United States, Europe, and the Pacific area.
